This book/movie had a profound impact on me.

Young Ellie: “Dad, do you think there’s people on other planets?”
Ted Arroway:  “I don’t know, Sparks. But I guess I’d say if it is just us… seems like an awful waste of space.”

I love this movie too (obviously, lol). I decided when I was a child that there had to be life on other planets, and nothing I’ve heard or read has made me decide otherwise even as an adult. in fact, it’s the opposite. we’re learning more every day about our galaxy — and others. I just hope when that discovery happens, I’m alive to experience it. (unless it turns out to be an “Independence Day” kind of situation. ;))

omg, I love sci-fi … tv, movies, books. I think because of the creativity; we can explore other worlds, other species, new technologies and old beliefs. and sometimes, philosophy aside, they just look really cool.

and Will Smith can save me ANY day, no aliens required. 😉
